ANTIQUE 1912 PORTABLE SINGER SEWING MACHINE WITH BAKELITE HANDLE ~ WORKS GREAT~

This is one of the nicer antique singer sewing machines that I have seen. I looked up the serial# and it is from 1912. This nice vintage Singer Portable has an very nice looking textured wood case with a yellow bakelite handle. The case is in nice vintage condition. But is loose at one corner( see photo) I plugged it in and tested it- The light still works and the machine ran very smoothly for the short time I turned it on- The belt is dry and brittle and so I only ran it for a few seconds- There is some wear to the very ornate decoration. But all& all a very nice antique Singer Sewing Machine. FL-b

This is an Antique Singer Treadle Sewing Machine Head. Model 127 with Sphinx decals. Serial number G2294114 dates this machine to August 8. 1912. This machine has been properly cleaned and oiled. The timing was checked and it sews very well. Please see the picture of the stitch. I even took the bobbin case a part and cleaned it so it has smooth thread draw. It sewed 6 layers of denim with ease. The stitch is equal on both sides. Here is HD video of this actual machine working. There are also some scratches on the main decal. The decals are darker on the backside. The paint on the deck has some scratches and wear. The rest of the machine has common signs of use. All chrome pieces have a nice aged appearance. Some parts like the needle clamp and thread tensioner are darker than others. The nose and round plates have some small blemishes. This vintage sewing machine was manufactured in 1912. It is a Singer model 66 with a beautiful. Vibrant Egyptian Lotus decal set. This seems to be a fully functioning sewing machine. It turns smoothly& and the arm mechanism moves well. There is no stitching sample as we don't have needles. Needles are easy to find and inexpensive on eBay. There are many other accessories as well. The serial number is F577684. The machine comes with extra bobbins. And the attachments pictured. There is some rust on the attachments. The pictures are worth a 1000 words and show fully the condition of this machine. We've tried to show as many as we can. There is some corrosion on the accessories that doesn't show in the photos. Here is a Singer Red Eye Sewing machine. Originally a treadle machine that someone had motorized. The serial number is G2392937 which dates it to 1912. As you can see. There is wear on the decals, perhaps it could be refurbished or used as a source of good parts for another machine. I have not tested the motor as it doesn't have a cord- if you wanted to use as a treadle machine the motor can be easily removed. I did not test the light as the cord is quite frayed. I manually turned the wheel and it does move freely. There is a bobbin in the machine and nothing caught or banged when I turned the wheel. The serial number on this machine is G1728457 which dates it to 1912. This machine. The console and the base is in 100% original condition. So, as you might imagine the finish on the console is worn but the console is in really nice structural condition. It has 2 lower drawers on both sides- 2 of the drawers are missing the pull. There is one large, flat drawer across the top- it is an actual drawer, it is not a hinged storage compartment like you would find on most other machines. The machine itself works fine- when turning the drive wheel the needle action and the fabric feed mechanism both operate well. The treadle base also works fine. There is no drive belt. The casters ... moreat the bottom of all four legs are intact. Overall. This is a really nice looking antique sewing machine which is in great working order and very good looking condition. Included in this sale I also have the original owner's manual and attachment use instructions. This manual is complete- it is missing no pages and has no water damage. Because it is so old. The paper is pretty brittle. The upper right corner of the front is torn but I have the piece so it can be repaired. Therefore, the manual is complete. It was made in Elizabeth City, New Jersey and probably used in hat making. It is made mostly of iron(weighs close to 10 lbs. and measures about 6"D x 10.5"L x 9.5"H. The Singer 24 is a chain stitch sewing machine. Because of its great popularity. Singer made many versions of this model. They were mostly intended for industrial use, but were also used in homes and sometimes even as a child's toy. This is a gem of an antique sewing machine. It is in excellent condition. It is very clean and well cared for. Although we have not used it we can confidently say it is operable. It has very nice embossing and gold stenciling. With the lid on it is 14" tall and the base is 20 x 9" The wood looks really good on this with the base having wonderful dovetails. There are a few small dings to the paint on the machine but they are pretty small. This includes everything pictured. Even the original key. Everything will be well padded.
